As Champions, they will contribute their ideas and lived experience on how we can strengthen health and resilience, helping tradies live fuller and safer lives at work and at home.

Shoutout to our Live Well Build Well Champion Jennifer Clark.

In 2025, Jennifer saw how clear communication made a real difference with colleagues. Taking the time to be open, direct, and thoughtful helped reduce misunderstandings and strengthened working relationships across the team.

Looking ahead to 2026, Jennifer wants to organise activities better and create more structure in her days, with the aim of minimising a busy head and staying focused on what matters most. Her approach reflects a practical and grounded understanding of mental fitness, improving how we work as well as how we feel.

We appreciate Jennifer’s commitment, professionalism, and willingness to keep learning. She continues to set a great example of what it means to be a Live Well Build Well Champion.

Big shoutout to Jeremy, spouting business owner and proud family man.
He shared how uninterrupted family time is non negotiable for him.
Work is important, but being present at home matters more.

That’s what living well and building well really means.

What are your non- negotiables?

The LIVE WELL BUILD WELL (LWBW) peer learning model focuses on improving the health and mental fitness of tradespeople by using peer-to-peer learning and behaviour change principles adapted from the Farmstrong model.

Research shows that when builders and tradies hear relatable stories, practical wellbeing strategies, and positive role modelling from fellow tradespeople and trusted industry voices, they are more likely to recognise risks, prioritise self-care, and adopt small, sustainable habits that support resilience, stress management, and overall wellbeing.

Through toolbox talks, on-site champions, digital resources, and shared lived experiences, LWBW builds awareness, strengthens social connection, and normalises conversations about mental fitness, leading to improved attitudes, healthier behaviours, and ultimately better mental health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes across the residential construction sector.

If your company believes in the power of people in construction to make a difference, we’d love to talk.

Sending a big LIVE WELL BUILD WELL shoutout to our champion Ben Sellwood who is heading into an exciting 2026 project with a clear plan to protect his mental fitness.

By paying attention to the early signs of burnout, he knows when to step back, reset, and come back stronger. That awareness not only supports his own health, it also sets the tone for his team and the quality of the work on site.

Mental fitness is not about pushing harder. It is about knowing yourself well enough to pause, recover, and build sustainably for the long term.

Well done to our champions who are leading by example and showing that building well starts with living well.

Great catching up with Ryan, builder and project manager, to talk about what helps people stay strong on site.

Ryan shared a simple but powerful idea around minimising fatigue, sprains and strains, and burnout. Being aware of the early warning signs and choosing to leave a little earlier when needed to rest and recover, so you can come in fresh and focused the next day.

It is about working smart, looking after yourself, and thinking long term. Healthy people build better homes.
