Stories from tradies and builders

Massive shout-out to @itm_nz - our first foundation partner who’ve backed LIVE WELL BUILD WELL from day one. Their support is helping us supercharge mental fitness for tradies across New Zealand.

Pictured here with Chris Booth (centre) and Greg Blackwell , and we’re pumped for what’s coming in 2026.

Builders with stronger resilience = a stronger industry.

Thanks ITM for standing with us.

Feeling incredibly uplifted and grateful that LWBW has been named a finalist for the SiteSafe Awards in the Mental Health & Wellbeing category.

This recognition isn’t about one person, it’s a celebration of everyone who has poured their energy into supporting the mental fitness of tradies across New Zealand. It gives us real hope that the work we’re doing together is making a genuine, positive impact and helping tradies lead healthier, stronger, more mentally fit lives.

Huge thanks to everyone who has backed this mission. The best is still ahead.

LIVE WELL BUILD WELL – SHOUTOUT

Today we recognise Brett, a brick and block layer working across the Rodney area of Auckland.

Brett shared how he leans on simple Eastern Taoism principles to stay steady in a tough trade. He’s learnt to take responsibility for his response to challenges, rather than reacting on autopilot. By observing his emotional state, he creates a gap for calm, clarity, and resilience, even on the hardest days onsite.

Brett’s approach is a powerful reminder that mental fitness isn’t about perfection. It’s about pausing, noticing what’s going on inside, and choosing the response that keeps you grounded.

Well done Brett, building strong from the inside out.

If you believe in stronger, healthier builders/tradies, like, follow and share.

Praising Ryan from Waller Projects today.
Ryan shared a powerful reminder that tough times never last and better days are always ahead. It’s a simple truth that carries real weight on site and in life.

His perspective highlights how resilience helps us push through challenges and build inner strength, one day at a time.

Thanks Ryan for bringing that mindset to the team and for supporting the message of mental fitness in our industry.

Shoutout to Ryan Mac Menigall, Builder at Waller Projects working on the Taylors Rd project in Auckland.

Ryan believes that mental health is strengthened through relationships and collaboration. When we look out for each other, talk openly, and work as a team, the job becomes lighter and the day becomes better.

Thank you Ryan for leading by example and showing what real strength looks like.
